More work, more money. Maybe One day they’ll know that’s what people do on Monday.
More trips, more toys. Maybe one day they’ll know how much they bring me joy.
More study, more books. Maybe one day they’ll know this is how my love looks.
Brush them off, send them outside. Maybe One day they’ll know I tried.
Snap at them, lose my temper. Maybe one day this will be something they can’t remember.
Tune them out, put a movie on. Maybe I’ll have time to connect before their grown and gone.
Put my phone down, forget my problems. Maybe this is my last chance to ever hold them.
Because one day isn’t a promise, and “maybe” is no guarantee.
I know enough, I have enough to love them well today.
